If you've never been to Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop, you are literally missing out on LIFE. I can't say that I've tried the majority of the menu, but I can say, that their BANANA CREAM PIE is to DIE FOR. Literally. To. Die. For. I could eat a million. No joke.

Leoda's is located right off the main highway in Maui, HI and is the perfect stop before, during, and after a full day at the beach! It serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner - all focused around serving the freshest farm to fork sustainable cuisine.

Now - Let's talk pie. I LOVE pie! But this BANANA CREAM PIE, is something more than love... First, it's the perfect size. Individually prepared, ensuring that each pie has the perfect ratio of crust, to banana, to cream. Nobody likes a disproportionate piece of pie! Second, let's dive into the 3 components of banana cream pie -

1. Crust: It's flakey with buttery richness. It's the perfect amount of crispy where a plastic fork is just able to break it apart without struggle. No perfect pie should break a plastic fork, nor should you need more than a plastic fork to eat a perfect pie. (I like to eat my pie AT the beach, so a broken plastic fork would be an serious deal breaker here.) The additional pie crust sprinkled around the outside is a real bonus in my eyes - adds that extra crunch of contrasting texture!

2. Banana: Vibrant yellow - as if just cut from a freshly peeled banana. Chunks, lots of chunks. Tender to the bite, and soft as you chew. Each banana chunk tastes like it was cut from a perfectly 100% pure yellow banana, no green and definitely no spots. The pudding encompassing the beautiful banana chunks is rich, creamy, and full of REAL banana flavor. (None of that artificial banana extract flavor here!) The texture is silky smooth and the color is equally vibrant to the chunks of banana.

3. Cream: Light and incredibly fluffy. Freshly whipped, never processed. Holds its shape firmly but ever so light, all at the same time. Some air bubbles are visible, but small, never over whipped. There are the slightest specs of vanilla bean scatted throughout. Perfection! I could eat a bucket, no question.

The result: BEST BANANA CREAM PIE EVER!!!

Eat one or eat them all! If banana isn’t your thing (not sure why it wouldn't be, but I swear you're missing out!), they have everything from apple, pineapple, macnut, coconut, to peanut butter to choose from.
